Advancing Partners & Communities, along with the Ministry of Health and Sanitation’s Comprehensive Program for Ebola Survivors (CPES) Program Implementation Unit (PIU), the Emory Eye Center, JSI Research & Training Institute Inc. (JSI) funded through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), and the Sierra Leone Ebola Association for Ebola Survivors (SLAES) did a follow-up eye care campaign to last year’s National Eye Care. This campaign supported the screening and treating of EVD Survivors with ocular complications most common for Survivors, such as uveitis, glaucoma, and cataracts. The 12-day-campaign was held at two clinics in Sierra Leone accessible to Survivors in Bombali, Koinadugu, Kono, Tonkolili, Western Area Rural (WAR) and Western Area Urban (WAU). By the end of the campaign, approximately 800 EVD Survivors were screened and provided with an on-the-spot treatment and follow-up plans for chronic conditions.
