On March 9, 2016, Advancing Partners & Communities in Sierra Leone officially launched the Strengthening Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal, and Child Health (RMNCH) Services as part of the Post-Ebola Health Sector Recovery in Western Area project at the Sierra Leone Bank Complex. The project is a collaborative effort between the Government of Sierra Leone and its development partners- the Ministry of Health and Sanitation (MOHS), JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. (JSI), Action Contre la Faim, and Save the Children- to improve access to and availability of high-quality health services in the country. The project is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Yet, within countries that have seen such gains, there are still hard-to-reach populations with exceptionally poor contraceptive use, as well as other health challenges; this is the case for many of the communities in which the Advancing Partners & Communities (APC) project works.

Thanks to years of impassioned, and data-driven advocacy, the government of Zambia has given authority to scale up community-based distribution (CBD) of injectables to the rest of the country. APC provided the sub-grant to ChildFund Zambia, who contributed to implementing the pilot study, and provided technical assistance for the implementation of Community Based Access to Injectables (CBA2I) activities, including planning the scale-up through a community-based family planning learning site model.

Integration within communities and across sectors is one way Advancing Partners & Communities (APC) is working to advance community health through two projects implemented by HealthRight Kenya in Marakwet County and World Vision Kenya in Isiolo County.
