Through a grant awarded under Advancing Partners & Communities (APC), the Salvation Army World Service Office integrates family planning (FP) into the Sustainable and Comprehensive Responses for Vulnerable Children and Their Families Project (SCORE) and the activities of Salvation Army World Service Office corps. Through the training and support of community-based distribution agents (CBDAs) and youth peer educators (YPEs) combined with mobile outreach events, SAWSO promotes increased knowledge of and access to FP services in the community. SAWSO also provides referrals to CBDAs and FP service providers, home visits, community dialogues, interactive learning sessions, adolescent sexual and reproductive health sessions, and Stepping Stones sessions with men. The project targets Uganda’s Eastern and East Central regions within the seven districts of Budaka, Bududa, Bulambuli, Busia, Butaleja, Manafwa, and Sironko.
